KLR Ramblers ride – April

It was dragging for a while, but finally all the details are here. Unfortunately I am not able to make to the ride this time, for the same reason as I need to give a miss to the Easter Tour, but I hope you will head out and have some fun out there. If you could make it to the ride, please let me know how did it go, and send me one or two photos if you took some.

The details of the April ride as follow:

  • 15 April 2017
  • Time: 10am
  • Meeting point: Puhoi Domain car park, as usual :-)
  • Where are we going? See the details below.
  • How are we going to ride? We are expecting you to be able to navigate through the ride on your own by using a map or with a GPS if you have one. (Files and information for both means of navigation are provided below.)
  • The whole ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours and will cover 55 km gravel and sealed road.

Leaving Puhoi you will head south-west on Kippner Rd. Taking a left turn to Tahekeroa Rd and continue on Makarau Rd to reach Makarau. From Makarau a short ride on Burnside Rd will take you to Westcoast Rd. Heading west on the Westcoast Rd for 3 km and turning to the right onto Komokoriki Hill Rd which will lead you to the beginning to Ahuroa Rd. From there you just need to follow Ahuroa Rd and it will get you back to Puhoi.

There will be one auxiliary rider. He or she will leave the start last and will be the last in the pack. You can also contact the auxiliary rider on mobile-phone if need. We will select this rider later and share the phone number with you at the start.

Be prepared to ride on gravel (in various conditions) and sealed public roads. All kinds of bikes are welcome not just KLR650.

Save the date in your calendar and download all the information what you need.
